First Line Friday, 27 March 2020

Time for first line Friday with Hoarding Books. I love this tag, such a cool idea. Often it’s the first line of a book that really grabs me and gives me an indication of whether I’m going to love it or not!

This week I’m featuring this adorable and nerdy romance novel!

“I know you hate surprises, Stella. In the interests of communicating our expectations and providing you a reasonable timeline, you should know we’re ready for grandchildren.”

I absolutely loved this opening, it pretty much set up the entire premise and tone in one go. I also got very Pride and Prejudice pushy mother vibes which I chuckled at – it’s someone informative and lengthy like that classic opener as well.

The Kiss Quotient was a fantastic book at follows Stella, who is autistic and on a mission to find out how to be in a ‘normal’ relationship…

Check it out! You can read my full review of thoughts here!

Your turn! Grab the book nearest you and post the first line in the comments!
